A free-falling cup of glass. Have you ever thought about how is it possible to calculate the exact number of pieces in which it can break? After countless experiments, a team of researchers manages to do just that. Drawn by their experiment, a mysterious professor summons the scientist to his secluded mansion to know more about their studies. However, as soon as they arrive, they’re confronted by a strange house where a series of bizarre events take place. The group soon realize they’re involved in a whole new experiment in which they’ll be taking the place of the falling glass.

At it’s world premiere, The Laplace’s Demon was awarded with the Most Innovative Film prize at Fantasia Festival in Montreal (Canada). Bearing the look of a 1930’s horror film, clearly influnced by Hitchcock and German Expressionism, with grotesque figures straight out of The Addams Family, The Laplace’s Demon makes us question if free will is even real - or if it only exists as a predetermined fate already layed out for each of us?

Giordano Giulivi was born in Rome on August 17, 1974. 
After his education in humanities, his passion for audiovisual techniques led him to work as an editor at Italian National Television. He has therefore dedicated himself to the cinema taking care of all the aspects related to the realization of a film, seen as a unitary and integrated activity, including the creation of the story, writing the script down to the smallest details, directing and final editing. He has devoted time and attention to this passion, with a continuous process of training and learning by doing that has led him to the management of also innovative techniques, applied with accuracy, method and perseverance that ensure the high quality of the product, despite the limited resources available.
