The Ranger

USA  |  2018  |  76 minutes | Director: Jenn Wexler

Teen punks, on the run from the cops and hiding out in the woods, come up against the local authority - an unhinged park ranger with an axe to grind.

Official 'Midnighter' Selection at the big SXSW 2018, and FrightFest UK 2018's Opening Night Selection, “The Ranger” is Punk Rock Slasher Film with a possible too generic logline, but it is distinguished by a splendidly punk-rock opening and great performances through and through. Mostly of Chloe Levine (of Netflix’s “The Defenders”), who is thoroughly persuasive as a young woman empowered by her ordeal. As an homage to '80s slasher movies, the film is already an anthem for both the punk community and the history of horror, and wants to be a new entry into
both those worlds.

Jenn Wexler has scripted, edited and directed her debut feature "The Ranger." As a producer, she has credits in more than ten feature films, such as "Most Beautiful Island", award winner in South by Southwest (SXSW).
