The Director

Bruno Bini is a director, screenwriter and producer. He started his activities in the creative field, advertising agencies, but since 2001 he created and directed for cinema. His films have received more than 50 awards at festivals in Brazil and abroad. He is also president of MTCine, of the Mato Grosso Film and Audiovisual Association. In 2019, Bini launched “Loop”, his first feature film, in co-production with Globo Filmes, Valkyria Filmes and Druzina Content, with supervision by Fernando Meirelles.

In 2165, Michele's kidnapping puts the city-state of Porto 01, the last stronghold of human civilization, under a state of war. To save the city it will be necessary to count on the help of Jefferson, a high school student who lives in 1999.

The Director

Pedro de Lima Marques is a graphic designer, filmmaker and visual effects artist. Partner at Bactéria Filmes, producer of original audiovisual content and at Forno FX Cinema Post-Production, visual effects and motion design studio. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema since 2017, with more than 16 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, he has already signed numerous projects for TV, such as weekly programs, advertising films and series. He recently won the awards for Best Premiere Director and Best Cinematography for CONTOS DO AMANHÃ at the Madras Independent Film Festival held in Chennai, India and competes for best special effects at I Festivou for the work done on the short film “Bochincho”.

The Director

Steven Kostanski has been working as a prosthetic make-up effects artist for over a decade starting in 2004 at the age of seventeen. His film credits have included WRONG TURN 4, RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION and PACIFIC RIM. Kostanski’s talents don’t stop there. As an independent filmmaker with the Canadian film collective ASTRON 6 he has made numerous shorts and his feature debut MANBORG has played in over thirty festivals around the world.

The Director

Ever since Anthony Scott Burns was a toddler on the Vancouver set of First Blood, where his dad served as a military adviser, he seemed headed for Hollywood. The 40-year-old recently wrapped production on the horror film Our House, starring Thomas Mann hes attached to direct the sci-fi flick Alpha for Lionsgate and Brad Pitts Plan B company, and now he brings us his new indie horror/sci-fi film COME TRUE, which he wrote, Electric Youth is scoring and Cube helmer Vincenzo Natali is exec-producing in Edmonton, where he grew up.

 

FRIED BARRY

Barry is a drug-addled, abusive bastard who - after yet another bender - is abducted by aliens. Barry takes a backseat as an alien visitor assumes control of his body and takes it for a joyride through Cape Town. What follows is an onslaught of drugs, sex and violence as our alien tourist enters the weird and wonderful world of humankind. FRIED BARRY is based upon the short film of the same name, which earned 57 official selections and 12 wins at festivals around the world.

The Director

Ryan Kruger started acting at a early age. Starting out in school plays and making home movies. He studied acting first at the Oldershaw School in the drama department acting in the odd theater shows in and out of school and then later on moved onto pursue his acting professionally at one of the worlds leading conservatoires and drama schools "The Guildhall School of Music and Drama" under David Ciano. While continuing his schooling, he took a keen interest in directing and started to make short films with family and friends. Then in 2004 he started making music videos for South African metal bands. His first film "Fried Barry" has already screened around the world picking up over 37 official selections in major festivals and has 7 wins already.

The Director

Steve Villeneuve began his involvement with horror in 2005 by producing and directing the anthological horror feature film Stories of a Gravedigger. Since he has entertained audiences with short films such as The Dead Pussy, The Mask of James Henry and A Quiet Moment. In 2010, his documentary Under the Scares was acquired by the Raven Banner Company and won Best Documentary at several festivals. Steve's latest project, Hail to the Deadites, a documentary about fans of the Evil Dead series is currently having its festival run. Steve is also very involved in the Quebec horror scene. From 2012 to 2016, he was the head of the horror section at the Montreal, Quebec City and Ottawa Comiccon. Since then, he is the co-organizer of The Requiem Fear Fest, the only Quebec horror convention.
